Thanks for your answer. Ultrasone provides only the minimum of info on their headphones, and even omits important details regarding the differences between them. This is where the NuForce went from bad to horrible. Would you consider it to be worth the extra expense over the E7 considering my only use will be for desktop speakers and not headphones? After all this hassle and time, a day later they sent me another pre-recorded email which basically indicated that they did not even read the stupid form I spent 30 minutes filling out for them. And, just so you know, the master volume in Windows is forced to maximum when using the E7 as your primary audio device.

FiiO is a great brand. That dB in the specs is probably the sensitivity at 1 mW. Sound is warm and relaxed, treble is a little roll off and mids are fowards.

Adjusting the bass setting on the E7 could be the answer if I opt for the ‘s. My PC’s analogue line out is noisy electrical interference and the headphone output is even worse. Either way, I am thinking of linking them to an external headphone amp, so I was wondering how they differ SQ wise…Also, what budget amp would you use with the Music Streamer II?

Drivers continue to be a problem as few companies take the ddac to get them right. It ffiio has the balls to drive my Pioneer SEs to listenable volumes with no distortion.

Is this a problem due to the power hungerness of my headphones as I am under amping than with Fiio E7 or am I using a faulty headphone can’t imagine that though from Beyer?
